I have me a nice little flock of around 50 hens. I have 1 broody hen who I've put eggs under over and over again. So I found an opossum one night and have used my security set traps and done everything I can think of. Then I got another 12 under my hen and then caught dogs in there if I let my chickens out. Another 12 and I had a 6 ft balck snake. Now im started over AGAIN and I have my hens on HIGH security haven't let them out keep them completely locked down at night. Cant find anyplace an animal could be getting into their coop but I was missing 5 eggs today. Any ideas on what im missing?

Snake, maybe? Rats, mice? Can you put a camera in to see what's going on? Some predators can get in a very tiny hole you don't think they could, perhaps even a 1" hole or smaller. Is the floor of the coop secure? Are there gaps between floor and walls? Is the roof secure? Are you using chicken wire on windows or hardware cloth? There must be a gap somewhere.

The main door is latched. The door on the boxes is SUPER heavy I can hardly open it. I have my hatch door its on a pully system and slides up and down. But there are no places around my building where it shows signs of anything digging in or out.

I can put a camera

I can put a camera in there. Mice/rats will take eggs? I have the tiny square wire over my window. The eggs that went missing this time was my small banty eggs.
