Mystery Roo - What breed is he?

He has a walnut comb. If McM doesn't have a walnut combed breed, then pretty much the logical choice is EE simply by the sheer popularity and numbers or it's a product of crossing or mixing either by accident or something like a 'purebred' tossed into an EE pen.

EE have no standard, so can't really say what they look like other than the majority more or less look like amers with non-standard colors. But there's absolutely nothing to rule out them being crossed or mixed with anything else or anything to rule out them having feathered legs, even.

btw, walnut is result of both rose comb and pea comb being present in the same bird so if you fancy, he could be an EE- Hamburg cross/mix.

I agree he doesn't look like a typical easter egger, but he really doesn't fit any breed I can tell. I know mistakes happen sometimes and my best guess is he's a mix.

Can you post better pics of him, including his comb?

White lobes
Legs are not green, more like yellow and have no feathers on them

I am working on getting better pictures... the comb is a walnut comb I believe.

Murray McMurray sells 'rare exotic breeds' and this is what this was from... are they just mixed breeds (EE or the like) and they give them away free because of that?

More, better pictures to come soon... (its not my bird, its my brother's so waiting on his wife)

Ok, got more pictures... and yes, it looks like the legs are green... weird, cuz I could have sworn they were yellow..

The breeds package are all purebreds of what they think are 'rare' or 'exotic'. The free chick they add to orders usually is not rare or exotic- it seems a lot of the free chicks comes from the EE chick bin(making the chances of this roo being an EE high just because of this reason).

They use all of the breeds listed in the catalog for that package. So if none of the breeds listed in catalog are known to have walnut combs, it pretty much comes down to him being an EE, however atypical looking he is for EE(but again, they are not a breed and there's no standard) or he's result of accidental crossing somewhere.

One more thing- if he's the only rooster and daughters from this flock lay colored eggs, that's the final proof of him being EE.

Ok, that makes sense... may never know 100% though, because my brother does not plan to breed him
