I see what you mean - and Welsummer hadn't crossed my mind. Thanks! :D
The only problem with a welsummer is that the comb is wrong. If it was an ee/wellie he'd either have a full pea comb, or a modified pea that would be more raised. Your roo has a funky rose comb, which could be from an ee/Wyandotte or another rose combed breed.

Rats, the pics in the thread won't open. :barnie I can live with knowing just that he's part EE, but there seem to be other clues to his genetic makeup that are present, but that I can't seem to match to a breed or breed(s).

Oh no-- it seems that the pictures in the thread stopped working when they updated the site ;-(

Not sure how to fix it or find those posts again-- they were old.
and it seems like there is a bit of American Game in there.

No clue on guesses but your boy is stunning. I have a Rooster similarly colored named Toothless. He came from hatching eggs from a friend with a backyard mix. Easter egger was one of the varieties i know she had. Here is my boy Toothless.

Bummer. I guess bugs/broken links are to be expected with updates...but thanks, anyway! Interesting about American Game...🤔

Wow - he is a looker!! 🤩 And his comb is very much like my roo's...must be the EE or EE/other combo. Love Toothless's coloring!

He is a handsome fella, and I would second at least some Wyandotte in his heritage. His build looks compact and stocky, much like a Wyandotte, as well as the small wattles and partial pea comb. His plumage is quite striking really.

Thanks! I've had SLW cross roosters in the past, and the coloring does seem somewhat similar...the EE characteristics may be throwing me off. He's an unusual one. 😁
