Mystery Shopping

i mystery shopped for 2-3 years and it was ok but once i had kids it got difficult
once you hit a certain age you have to hurry to the car to write down notes such as names and conidtions of the place
it is a great play income and sometimes i would get as much as 600 a month along with 6 extra pounds a month
the best mystery shopping in my opinion although time consuming was the car test drive and they would pay $40-60
my mom has done it for atleast 10 years and loves it cause she is a single person and doesnt care to cook so the restaurants are her interest
we have stayed at hotels for free, gotten free clothes, free meals, even grocery shopping, the list is endless
never let anyone at the establishment know what you are doing otherwise they company contracting you will never allow you to work for them
hint when filling out the application DO NOT tell them you are in retail and NO ONE you know is in the retail or restaurant industry
if you accept a shop never call and cancel unless ABSOLUTELY necc otherwise you will be the last to get a job
and the better a shopper you are the better jobs you get for instance they will call you for a short notice or a cancel shop and pay you the fee with an extra $10-20 extra
i even had a company pay for me and my kid to spend the day at siz flags

another thing to look into is product recalls
a company will contact you and tell you to go to a certain store with your certificate and you have to clear the entire shelf of that product and it pays really good
if the product is not contaminated you get to keep all of it
my mom mostly goes this
she has done lunchables - they were contaminted meat but the caprisuns were fine and she washed the outside and had about 90 carpisuns for free
she has been doing alot of cocacola because they changed their look recently and she had to pull off everything for about 5 stores and we are packed to the gills with coke, diet coke, sprite, dasani

i cant remember the names of most of the comapnies but another i did was mail investigation
a company would send me a huge box full of envies with a certain amount rubberbanded to gether and i would have to put each pack that was rubberbanded together in the p.o on a certain day and it was perfect cause the p.o was 2 blocks from the house and they paid 25.00 for every box i completed

all time favorite was checking the conditin of magazines
they were mailed to my house i would have to enter the code from the p.o and comment on the condition and that its each one paid .25 not much but i had free magazines and got paid for it

once you start mystery shopping you will figure out the certains boards to find info and find many resources

try
narms.com
volition.com

if i think of any more i will surely let you know

oh and merchadiding is also good and you work your own hours doing that also

the key to this is not to have children with you at anytime and take every job that you are offered at first then after about a year your rep is good enough that you can pick and choose and they will pay you more than newbies

and fyi there are over 300 companies that i know of and i worked for 40 at one time

you will need to fill out many applications cause sometimes you will not get a job from one individual comapny for months

before you start working with a new company always google them cause there are some that you will have trouble getting your money for

and if you wear glasses this is a perfect job cause there are companies that will pay for your exam

and if your drive a car you can get many oil changes FREE im on about my 4th once in 5 years

I just went to the MSPA jobslinger website and did a search on Massachusetts and came up with 687 jobs. Chances are some are near you. YOu can narrow it down by zip code.

Thanks hikerchick, I will look into it. I could use the extra money, just like everyone else.

A company - McDonald's let's say- wants to make sure their stores are doing what they should. They want to make sure you are getting fast service, fresh food, and friendly staff. So they pay people to pose as customers, go in and order the food, etc. Typically you have to evaluate the people you deal with; read their name tags, say if they were friendly, made eye contact, etc,, time how long it took to get your food; and then determine whether your meat is juicy, bun fresh, sandwich neatly wrapped, etc. They will pay for your food plus give you, say, $10 for doing this. You cannot reaveal that you are a mystery shopper.

Other types of shops are as simple as going to your bank to deposit a check and evaluating the teller's service.

Every industry has mystery shoppers; dry cleaning, valet parking, banking, veterinaran, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, retail stores (Walmart, FYE, Aeropostale, etc.) Anything you can imagine where contact is made with the public you will find mystery shoppers. that is why there are so many opportunities available and why I felt compelled to share it. Who can't use a few bucks or free stuff? Plus, you only take the jobs you want, when you want. You never HAVE to work, as long as you keep the committments you make. It is a great gig.

I would be very interested in learning more about this, and I am in PA like you are. It was something I was considering a while ago, but was having a really hard time sorting through all the "scams", and got VERY disheartened...

If you (or anyone!) could suggest some legitimate companies/opportunities I would be very grateful!!

I will PM you, too
