Mystery visitor/mystery egg

Man, I am glad you know what a snake egg looks like because I was setting here thinking, my luck it's a snake. And if I was going down a path and it y, one side a snake even a black snake and the other a bear, I am going with the bear.

you animal rescuers are special people, though. when i was a kid i "found" a nighthawk on an abandoned lot in the city and asked around about who could help me with it. i was directed to this little old storefront, (this is in the big mean city, in the 80s) and behind the counter is a room with a woodstove and a lantern and a bunch of badass old timers hanging around like it was 1935...i thought i'd died and gone to heaven.

(turns out the nighthawk was torpid, and i ought to have left it alone, but you know, i meant well...)

...anyway! your egg is exciting! i hope if it contains an alien, it will be a merciful alien.

O.K. guys, Snakeman is finally up and I got a pic. The marking on the egg is the "O" I put on there and the other side has an "X" to use for a guide for turning. The bator I put the mystery egg in had been running for a few days already so when those eggs get to day 18 I will have to place the mystery egg in a bator all by itself to hatch. The little mystery chick will probably think it hatched into a mansion.

The mystery egg is sitting beside one of my buff orpington eggs to give you an idea of size.

The mystery egg is smaller than a serama egg. Does anyone know of a chicken that lays eggs smaller than a serama?

I had a BR hen once who would lay a tiny egg like that once or twice a year. My mom took it to school one day with a regular sized one the hen laid for my daughter to do show and tell.

We know all about snakes. My SO is a professional snake handler and we have 28 snakes that live with us now. I have hatched snake eggs before. They don't have a hard shell.

Don't feel bad, if I was walking down that same path and there was a cricket on one side and a bear on the other, I'm going with the bear.

Isn't that weird how your fears work.
