Hmm, maybe he does have pigeons in his barn where his hens are. This one rolled out of the nest and now he thinks it's a chicken egg!
We have 12 pigeons with two sitting now so I know what those eggs look like. I had quail years ago but I don't remember what kind they were. There eggs were smaller but mayby there are larger quail than I had IDK. Since the young man said his grandfather said is was a chicken egg I would lean more towards that unless of course there never was a grandfather.
That just doesn't make sence.
I know small eggs are hard to hatch, well some are for me. I just hatched some seramas and they were hard to hatch. With my little silkies and suntans there eggs are a little larger but I have a good hatching rate with them.
If it does hatch I'm thinking it can live with my seramas, if it is a chicken.
