Oh, and a close up of one of the little yellows inside of the feeder.

I'll probably eat most of them. I haven't weighed them, but one makes the meat portion of a meal for me. I think most people eat two or three for a meal? So, you plan on eating these guys? Just curious, how much meat do you get from them?

I also eat the eggs. I usually cook 4-5 for the equivalent of a large/extra large chicken egg.
I've cooked them whole and I've cooked them in halves. I've only actually killed and cleaned four so far since I'm fairly new to it, so I'm trying various things. They're really quick to process. My very first time I killed and cleaned 3 in about half an hour.Interesting, thank you. I didn't think it would be much meat but I'm clueless on quail. If you don't mind answering other questions, you just cook them whole, like a cornish game hen or turkey? That would make a neat little package on the plate.
Here's a dish I made with a whole quail. It might give you an idea of scale. Thanks! I'm looking into getting meat birds, trying to figure out what is best. I have chickens now but not meat chickens, my ladies just provide my family with eggs. Thanks again and good luck!
Look at those feathers!Took some new pictures this morning. There are just too many to do individual pics of them all, so here is a group shot with a few individual pics. You can see how small the yellows are compared to the other chicks.View attachment 1971871 View attachment 1971874 View attachment 1971875 View attachment 1971876 View attachment 1971877
