I just bought 5 turken chicks who look just hatched, and to be honest a little weird. :) I was just wondering, do these chicks need any special care?
Unfortunately the clerk at the store didn't seem to know anything about them saying they were half turkey and half chicken.
So any extra advice for caring for these little guys would be appreciated!

Yep... they DIDN'T know anything about them!

Turken are 100% chicken... with a funny look and name. They are considered a dual purpose breed. And they often have fantastic personalities. Some of the funniest looking birds in a farm yard. :love

The Naked Neck gene has been bred into many breeds, even Silkies!

No special care is needed other than what is standard for chickens. Once they are fully grown, they are fairly cold hard despite their bare necks.
