Yes, double dose of the Naked necked gene. Will produce 100% naked necked babies bred to any Naked Necked rooster.
If bred to fully feathered rooster only 1/2 will be naked necked.

Thanks so much! I will be putting my trio back into a breeding pen very soon. We are off season right now for hatching but will be starting up very soon again.

That's good. I just hatched out a batch for the fall on the 17th of September. These will be all until I put alone on for a New Years hatch.
That is if I'm still getting eggs to hatch.

I've got a couple if projects going with my Naked Necks. Check them out: the Green Egger Naked Neck thread and the Mottled/Aloha/Calico thread.

It looks like I may go most of tge year not hatching any if the Mottled etc line because I've list all bit one of my hens that will produce that color. I've got a very colorful rooster that should produce some carriers if the mottling/calico/Aloha colors but with no hens to breed to him I'll have up wait until his babies grow up and are breeding age to get the spots to come back.

I've got several with the double NN gene so that part will be helpful getting naked necked babies in tge ground.

My rooster, super nice fella.

My hens, I startled my barred girl and she hopped down to the nasty poop board

This hen gives me 100% Naked neck chicks, I was told she has a "double dose" of the gene, am trying to learn more about it.. Reddest face I have ever seen on a hen!

Yeah she is double dose.. you tell by how much feathers they have on front of the neck. No feathers at all or just a few feathers making more like a bowtie are the double doses. These will throw 100% naked necks no matter what they are bred with- another NN or another breed.

The single doses have more feathers on the neck, making more like a bib like on the first hen above.

by the way the black/white hen is actually a birchen. She probably has other genes "hidden" in her causing her feathers to express more white.. might get some fun patterns with your rooster. She does not have the same barring gene as in barred rocks.

I'm breeding Marans-turken crosses. Got some really nice eggs from one of my girls. I'm going to stick some in the incubator soon, but he babies will all be pea-combed olive eggers.

The dark brown egg project Turkens are still on the horizon.

Thank you! I wondered if that wouldn't be a more proper term for her coloring! I think her father was in fact a Birchen Maran. Her eggs are really dark.

That's pretty cool! ochochicas on here also has Marans-NN but is also trying for olive eggs in the mix.

Birchen is very variable, both by "itself" and is also very influenced by presence of other genes. She happens to be much more marked than typical, with the cause being unknown.

Haha posted at the same time as ochochicas!

I love the idea of dark egger turkens!
