Mom: Mottled Partridge Naked Neck

This one is the best mottled chick out of the bunch hatched from this pairing, including the pullets.

I'm keeping my eye on number 6 and number 8.

Here are the last two cockerels.

Number 9:
400

Color: Blue Golden Birchen
Dad: Blue Red Naked Neck
Mom: A hen from Salmon NN and EE hens.

Number 10:
400

Color: Blue so far no red showing but he
does have a pea comb.
Dad: Blue Red Naked Neck
Mom: Wheaten Naked Neck that laid green
Egg. 1/4 EE.

I'm going to try moving froward in my project with 3 or maybe 4 of these young cockerels.

I'm definitely keeping Numbers 6 & 8. I really wanted a solid black cockerel but since I've culled all but these ten I'm thinking if going with number 1 from the Jersey Giant. The last choice I think will be number 9. Simply because I love that coloring. I am trying to move away from so much blue, I want to try to establish a solid black line. I don't know if it is possible with my current flock and colors if hens/pullets.

So tell me what your think of them. The good, bad, and ugly.

Congrats, but I am confused???? I am not a show person so may not be thinking right, but I thought the color had to be a recognized SOP color to show?
This is what I thought, too, but Jacob, the new owner, said she could be in the "Other" category! I'm so excited! So now I can actually display my Alohas at the fair next year!

The judge asked Jacob what color and wanted to know the breeder info! He told the judge all about the Aloha program.
I was so flattered that the judge was interested!

@draye - I love seeing all the different colors! Good idea to photo them to track progress. I'm particularly partial to the blue ones - I'm a sucker for blue coloring in a chicken...

My NN pullet "Puppy", the one that seemed to have some white feathering as a chick, is buff with black fine speckling, and black accents (including around tail) at 7 weeks, but still has white tips to many of her feathers (body and tail). @alohachickens , or anyone - does this mean she may have some mottling as a grownup girl?

My Speckled Sussex are small, but they're like golden retriever puppies. I look forward to seeing how their speckles continue to develop...

The white specks could very well be mottling. It has be found recently that some Turken/Naked Necks do carry mottling.

Be sure to post some pictures.
I like blue too but I'm getting so many that are blue and splash. I'm trying to tone to the blue diwn some.
