Naked Neck/Turken Thread

This guy, your 2nd choice, is my favorite at first glance. He's got a larger muff than I personally like, but his coloring is spectacular! And I love ALL of your girls. I love watching the progress of your birds/projects!

Thanks.
I put him as second choice but I was kind of going in order the pics were taken.
He will be my mottled NN rooster. Most like will put him over his mama this spring then later over some choice pullets to further the mottling along.

I have reasons for each choice for colors. The brown red was chosen because I'm not sure how his brother will turn out.

There were three more cockerels but I wasn't crazy about their size they seem to be quite smaller. The almost Crele didn't work out at all turned out to be the smallest one of the bunch. Really surprised me his mama was a Welsummer. The Welsummers didn't really work out for me at all. Total waste of time.

Ok guys you won't belive this. I am traveling by train from school and I was on my phone, of course, on backyard chickens-searching for nesting box ideas. While I was looking at it I didn't go out on my stop, but on the next one. So I'am posting this from that place, freezing for next 20 minutes until my train come. This has never happened to me before.

Point is, this forum is DANGEROUS place. Be carefull!

Last post for the ladies

The first three are from the single mating of my Red Mottled NN rooster and the Mottled Partridge NN hen.

All three show mottling to some degree.

Next is the single pullet of 4 that hatched from the single mating of Silver Barred (BSL) NN rooster over a Black Crossbred hen ( non NN).

She hatched out as a partridge chick but started getting barring. She now is mostly barred and you have to look close to see the partridge markings.
Funny thing about this mating, all 4 chicks turned out totally different colors.

I'm glad I don't have to ride a train. I'd probably end up this way too! LOL!

@Kev - random color question for you: If I were to put my Cream Legbar rooster over one or some of my NN pullets, which coloring in the NN would lead to the most interesting looking babies?

This is Dumbledore:

Define "interesting".

I guess what I mean is that I don't want whatever the pullet's coloring is to completely suppress all CL coloring. My brain can't hold on to the dominance of some colors/genes over others. I don't want to cross a black pullet with Dumbledore and get all black chicks that look like their mama with no hint of CL, I guess, and same with a red/buff pullet...

I'll take a stab at it, but I'm no Kev about genetics. The CL girls look very similar to the girls in your pic you are planning on mating him with. I would think the girls will look very similar to their moms, maybe a little added reddish in the breast or some barrs instead of "lace" ( I know not real lace but the patterning on the neck of your girls) on the necks. For the boys I have no clue.
