chicks hatching

I have just seen 1 yellow head and a red naked neck coming out from the wing feathers! momma has got a little helper and they are warming eggs together, lol. still 9 to hatch. I hope they will. last time this broody hatched 1 only, I do hope she will not do it again

I didn't find anything that I liked. I actually have something in my mind since I have 1*2 m and don't need too many boxes, I was thinking two, one of top of them. I will try to make a sketch tomorrow. I can't fit a tire in my coop and cat boxes, I had them before, but didn't like them, no real reason, I just felt weird collecting eggs from there.

what about something like this?

I made my mind already. I was looking for something with more privacy since I have a hen that is scared of me when she is in nest. She jumps right out. I know how I want it to look, I will make a scetch when I get some time, busy right now. Oh and I will do it from wood..

no problem, just do your job and post a pic when you make it. I always look for the new ideas for the nesting box.

I am not sure if another NN hatched as I didn't want to disturb my broody. the one I saw this afternoon is Nn. the chick is very cute.

I have just learned that today is day 20, so there is still hope for hatching more tomorrow

I'm hoping to get a completely featherless chicken soon, just for fun. I'm sure our five year old will get a kick out of it, maybe we will even enlist "grandma" to make a sweater for it!

2 naked necks, 6 eggs gone bad (marans)

and still sitting on 2, 1 NN and 1 hers (mutt).






1 is Nn and another one is either Nn or N?! (I saw only the back of the neck naked). I don't want to disturb them too much at the moment.

@Kev do you think 1 chick will be white and another one cream, wheaten or buff?

the bigger chick is from my big, fat, white with a little bit of reddish on her head girl. looks like 1x dominant white.

the smaller chick is from my 100% white 6 mo girl. her white does not seem to be dominant.

their daddy is red with black tail.
