Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Now that is fine picture Chickendales love all the textured cloths and the baby is pretty darn cute also.

Hello PG I have never been to those parts but only Iceland, Denmark and the other western mainland countries. But I have friend who stayed in China with some Welsh women and they visit here and there and are silly enough to call themselves THE GANG OF FOUR. They were teaching English. So I'v hear a little about the green country of Wales.

I just had to save my little NN bantie from the mouth of my dog. The poor chick escaped through the fence.

Yes it was flypaper. She either managed to fly into it or it fell but she was all tangled in it. Lucky for us both the package was old so the tapes were not very sticky to start with, but it still scared her so bad that she came to me for help. Her and her sister are part of my free range flock and usually stay away from people so I knew something was up when she was running to me squwaking!

I am excited about the Houdan cross. These girls should be laying in a couple months. I am hoping for a nice dark egg since their father was a Marans and the mother a brown laying Turken RIR cross. I know the color should be great. The Houdans we have are speckled black and white. I thought about polish but they seem flighty compared to the Houdan.

Well that is some crossing going on there on your birds OHBigmamma. Do you have pictures of the Rooster ? Has he sired other

chicks and do they lay dark brown eggs ? I have a Maran Silie cross available for use breeding at a friends house. She has a pair that I gave to her to grow out. But then I could do a cross between Petuna as above and a Houdan male. fun

Loving all the new Naked Neck pics --- beautiful birds!!!

Here's a single comb blue barred NN guy I'm tickled with:

I've got lots of barred and blue barred pea-ish combed boys (carrying blue-egg gene), but this guy is the first barred single comb.
Ha! The NN guy to the left has an unusual comb.

I do not have any NN yet myself, but a couple of months ago I chicken sat for one adorable little one and got some pics of her while she was here.

This sweet girl actually belongs to artsyrobin.

Next year my mottled Houdans will be mixed with turken hen to see if I come out with a hen that looks the same as the mottled hen owned by artsyrobin.
