Her white beak and legs is due to white skin, unlike the cockerel(yellow skin). I'm rather liking her color, it looks pretty nice.

Roo and other then are paint/leaky whites due to being white to color crosses. I'm not sure why some of them turn out clean white yet others get the random spots of color.

btw the cockerel has a crooked comb due to presence of crest. Just a tiny little tuft but crest really likes to mess with combs. I hate his comb and it's making me think about getting rid of the crest gene. Alas, he is the only remaining cockerel in the oldest group so he has to stay around... for now.

Precious may have been rose or walnut.. she had a very unusual comb but never got to breed from her to test what comb she had.. unfortunately pic doesn't show her comb very well at all:

I have been very tempted to deliberately breed for rose with full crest to see if they will make something that looks like Precious/just to see what happens, but have too many birds and projects.. There are two rose combed hens in the general group, so maybe in the future it might happen...

I finally got my young birds out into the open-air. I will try to get some pics that I want you to see so you can give me your opinions of them. These are the ones I got from Brother Jason (originating from Linda). New guess work: 3 cockerels, 4 pullets. The one pullet is solid black with indigo legs, 3/4 Dark Cornish, big, tall girl.

Also same cross...a big pullet, with white base, red lacing pretty much all over. White based pullet with large and small black spots.

One BIG cockerel, 3/4 dark Cornish but looks like an ENORMOUS pure DC.

One pure DC pullet

One pure DC cockerel. All with excellent heavy bone EXCEPT the black pullet...she's more tall with medium thickness to shanks, not overly full in breast but more than adequate. Long neck, upright body. She is obviously 3/4 DC and 1/4 -- 50X50. Hope that makes sense.

LOVE THESE!!!!!

Just when I was thinking of abandoning my white NN project.....Not a chance now!

I apologize for that.....

and thank you. Can I ask about weights of your NN at around 13 weeks? if I remember correctly white pullet weighed at 6.5 lbs at that age. I was never in habit of weighing birds before so I'm not sure if that's a nice weight but she does have an awesome breast- very long breast bone and good amount meat. definitely a keeper for breeding for that reason alone.

You know Linda has excellent stock.. they are going to be awesome in almost every one's eyes haha

Would love to see pictures, very cool you got an all black one.. the white pullet might be a solid black also btw if she does not show any buff leakage.
