Welcome.  Getting NN from a hatchery they will likely lay good sized light brown eggs.  The size of the birds will likely be medium large.  The naked neck trait is easy to breed into many other birds since it is straight forward easy genetics, you see it the chicken carries it, you don't see it the chicken doesn't have it.  So the variety of answers you have received and will continue to get comes from mixing NN w/ many, many other chicken breeds to get all kinds of results, as others have answered, you won't get this kind of "fancy" genetics w/ the hatchery NN they will be much more straight forward.  Most everyone ............................. who am I kidding this is the NN thread ............................ we all on this thread believe every chicken breed can be made better by adding some NN to it!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Thanks for the information and I'm glad that you added that they are good egg producers. I do want to sell eggs and chicks, one of the things I've heard is that the naked neck turkens are prolific layers but will go broody every now and then. I appreciate that you answered my post.

The only NNs I've had go broody are the ones with mixed blood, especially the one I suspect has a dash of Cochin in her. She lays really well for a few weeks to a few months and then becomes "decadent" in her desire to spend a lot of time in the nesting box before turning 100% broody.

She's also given me a beautiful breeding cockerel that I'm currently working with, Peta. He inherited the feathered shanks gene from his mother.

Wow she's absolutely gorgeous as well as your breeding rooster. Very beautiful the both of them are.

You said lone naked neck chick was he the only one that hatched? He's adorable.

I was actually hatching Silver Grey Dorking eggs I'd purchase from a breeder and just threw in three eggs from my own flocks. Most, but not all, of my roosters, both penned up and free-ranging are NNs, but I've also got some mixed breeds, an EE and two Bielefelder roosters. I honestly thought I'd get at least one more NN from the mix, but the other two came out fully feathered. Ironically, I had 3 roosters all raised together and overseeing the girls I pulled eggs from, and each of those boys sired a chick. In case you're curious, here are the daddies and their offspring:

Simon, the father of the NN above:

Monty:

He sired Andres (the Giant):

And finally, Harley:

Sired this little chick:
