Yes, the same.  A black tail red would work just as well.  Red sex links  definitely have Columbian and it is dominant so doing somehting like a red sex link with your Cinnamon or a partridge will throw columbian patterned birds.

Great. As I'm mixing up the colors now, I just might wind up with something like that anyway. Thanks.

Guys I have just let my chickens freerange and a fox ran straight in front of me to them- 3 meters from me.

I don't even need to tell you how shocked I was, but luckily she didn't kill any chickens cause she was probably scared of me even more than I was of her.

Chickens are not free ranging anymore..

Lucky you saw it. Yup, same as me, was shocked to see one outside my window that time, and was so lucky to interrupt the one who had taken Switch. I think the three chickens I just lost were due to a fox after all as well.

I have mine in fenced paddocks (fencing pinned so as to make digging under difficult if not impossible) and rotate them (though I'm currently overdue on the rotation). Since I have protective roosters, it is a barrier that deters, or at a minimum, slows foxes down while chickens can seek safety, while allowing an element of ranging. The three I just lost had flown out of the safety of the paddock. Puppy keeps doing this as well - I'm so worried she's going to get caught.

Any ideals on how to get better photos of chickens? I can't seem to get good ones without the chicken trying to fly away or run away while trying to get a shot.

Glad your birds are safe and you got to witness it. Could be the same one that took a bird a while ago, was that one of yours?

Did Goodwin and the other two have the habit of jumping the fence? Others jump too?

If I wasn't going to close the gates she would get all of them because they were free ranging at time.

I still don't believe you could stop her from taking bird with her.

It deffinitely could be the same one, but who can tell?!? Neighbours not so far from us complain about seing foxes all the time and they actually made pathways in long grass near them.

Also we have woods about 50 meters from my place but have another street befor my house-don't really know how to explain this other way.
