Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Quick update on the birds! We've been swamped here, we just brought home our newborn son, Oliver! Wow we are busy!

I've included several shots of the color variations so far... Have two pure all white (one is the largest). All of these were born 02/02 - so 12 days old. I have some enormous non-NN birds as well in this hatch. Batch 2 - (205 eggs) should start pipping the 24th-25th.
Based off the previous metrics, we should get at least 20 more NN's.

Some nice colors: Out of 78, we had 8 NN.

Congratulations on your son! (Oh, and the other "hatch", too!!!

OMG, I just read the previous post and it sunk in - I have TWO batches of chicks coming next week, all NNs. 25 chicks per batch. 50 chicks around the same age.

I must be out of my mind. Excuse me while I go hyperventilate in a corner...

I'm just trying to figure out how long I have to wait before I start breeding again. My youngest chicks are now about 8 weeks old. It's definitely time to hear the pitter patter of little chick feet again. Or not. But maybe.

I'm trying to consistently cull 2 birds per week to cut down the size of the flock so I can accommodate more.

77 hatched and looks like a few more are trying to improve get out.

You can see way more pictures on the FB Naked Neck fanciers group. It takes too long to upload that many in here.

This time around I've only marked the chicks from the green eggs.

The first group of green eggs are from my older GENN set 6 eggs and all six hatched. This one was a sex link cross. Always my luck 4 makes and 2 females.

The second group were from my Crested Polish cross hen ( she came from my NN lines). Set 6 and 5 hatched. Zero are naked necked. Bummer. I've got her moved to a different rooster and he will assure me NN.

Oh my goodness! I love the colors!!
