Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Leadwolf1.....don't worry if you want red. The hens get the red too....red face, neck and crop....it's just that the boys have the big purple-red comb and wattles, too.

On march I decided to get some naked neck, we in Puerto Rico called ¨pirocos¨.
I bought five in the Pet Feed Store. Now i have four pullets and one roo.
They are beautiful. One of the pullet start to lay. I plan to breeding with
a big non naked neck roo to increase size.

Here is a photo of the one who is laying eggs.

Here is the big guy, he is a sex-link cross (Delaware maybe?) but too much black and red.

By the end of the year I hope to have new naked neck chicks!

Mmm. Interesting. Maybe everywhere have a different name.
I love it, they are sweet, curious, good layers. I have a pullet
that look like an ostrich.

This may not be the proper place to ask, but does anyone know who I could contact in the near future to buy NN hatching eggs? I just got my first "Turken" yesterday and have fallen in LOVE with her(him??)! I want to hatch a few more but this was the first one I had found in my area EVER.

Just to say that our local agricultural show had Naked Necks as first and second prize in the Rare Breeds Class......so glad to see that they are gaining popularity.

Hello NN's lovers!

Some years ago, I used to have NN, but then I ended up not having any, and about 2 months ago, I found this Thread and reminded me how much I liked NNs.
I have already started to look for some breeders from whom I can buy some birdies!
I am from Argentina, and as it is the southern hemisphere, we are in the middle of winter, so hens aren't laying! but that doesn't stop me from searching.
as soon as I get sth I'll post some pics!
