Well, one of my Reba babies didn't make it. She would not open her eyes. Strangest thing. She hatched out really easily. When she wouldn't open her eyes, I gave her the electrolytes and the Poly V. She finally started opening her eyes and eating and drinking. Then, I noticed a day later, she wasn't opening her eyes again. Found her today. This was the chipmunk Reba egg. I haven't had this happen is yrs. Once they start eating drinking on their own that is. I've had them give up while I was working with them. Wish I had hurried and started the treatment again.

I don't think you could have done anything. as my vet says it is natural selection (I hope it makes sense in english). only the strong live.

I had someone on my IG say they think my Pugly is a cockerel. My heart will be broken if that's true. We have had such a hard time without flocks and SHE has been the sweetest out of this one. Thoughts? I only have one as the sis died. She's about 4+ weeks old. Maybe 5.

Unfortunately it's looking like a cockerel. I hope I'm wrong, but it definitely looks like a cockerel. If it's not then that is one heck of a beefy girl! Nice legs!

Haven't had any time for pics, but did snap some quick one's just before I left for work of a few. Got three it looks like from the silkie/giant cross,five toes anyway, one is fm. Has a little regular color on the back of it's head but rest is pretty dark. Under the wings and butt is black.
Only hatched 13. Had 15 dead in shell look like they should have hatched not sure what was up with that

None were fully feathered.

I need to get photos of these chicks again. I can never believe how fast they feather out. The wings are showing some fun things. I have always love the Zen egg baby. Now, being all black, it has some white in the wings..along with a nice long brown feather at the bottom of the wing.
Prince is barring out.
The one with the spot on it's head...Cocoa Puffs...is of course barring.

I was wrong about Zen having a brown feather.. :/ It was some of his/her yellow fluff still hanging around! lol...I love Zen, hope it's a girl.
