Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Hey all!

can anyone tell me what this feather pattern is called on my Turken cockerel?

I love him and want to make more heart covered babies!
:)

I BELIEVE that's some kind of lacing.. Think like a Gold Laced Wyandotte, but with some kind of modifier gene that's reducing the black down to just spots at the ends of the feathers. I get that sometimes on my Transylvania cross cockerels...
This one is the closest I have to that right now, but he's got alot more black. You can see where the lacing is complete in some places, and incomplete in others...

I second what cactusrota said.
It sure is a beautiful pattern though. I like that more than the complete lacing.
Hopefully it will show up in some of his offspring :fl
Mine have some interesting patterns too.
It’s driving me nuts wondering what breeds might be mixed in with them.
This is my first year with NN.
Do their feathers tend to change after the first molt?

The NN gene is completely independant of the feather pattern and colors. So it's really hard to say for sure what the feathers are gonna do. You kinda have to approach them like a wild feral bird in that respect.. haha!

Check it out guys. My 5 NNs are feathering out into some really nice colors.
This one is a cockerel named Loki.

It’s so fun to see how each one turns out!
Loki and Conan are going to be rehomed but I think I’m going to keep the, as yet, unnamed cockerel.
He’s not as aggressive as the other two and quite handsome (I love his slate colored legs).

What stunning colors! That's one of the things I love abut the naked necks is the color posibilities

Some of those are really neat!!! Keep posting updates, I'll bet their adult plummage is gonna be really cool!
