Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Hope I'm in the right place to ask. I started reading but there are a lot of comments to go through.
I love Naked Necks. I've had some for a while, hatched some of my own, and recently ended up with a turken mix baby.

Silly question. Do all turkens have large feet?
If they are going to be a large size adult, the feet could look larger, like Great Dane puppies look like they are all feet. If they are male, the feet might look larger, with thick shanks.

Thanks! It's been a while since I had turken babies and now I have a single chick. I couldn't recall if all turken chicks had rather large feet or if this one is simply going to be large. (It's a cross between a standard turken roo and a bantam frizzle [likely cochin but not certain]. It has feathered legs but no sign of frizzle in the feathers.)

The size would depend on what they were mixed with. If they are meant to be a bigger meatbird, they would need bigger feet and leg's to help them carry the weight of their bodies.

I think your chick is just going to be large. I have one large NN and one smaller one, the large one has "meat bird feet" that remind me of some I have raised in the past. The smaller one does not have the extra-size feet. Not as large of feet as the Cornish-X meat birds, but larger than the others.

Thanks for that helpful info. It makes a lot of sense. Pretty sure the chick is turken mixed with my frizzle bantam (the only bird I have with feathers legs).

Thank you for that! I suppose the little one is going to be huge!
(sorry for the pic. Just really wanted to share. When I found the egg it had a crack and was among 2 rotten ones. I thought this was a 'dead' egg until I peeled back a piece of shell. There was a chick inside but it wasn't moving at first. I got it under a heat lamp asap, but this image- it kinda amazes me.
