maralpz2006 - I am totally jealous. I just have a plain boring red one. But I have big plans on getting some cool ones in the future. Although the most I can have in my coop is 6, maybe 7 if they don't seem crowded, but I'm aiming at 6. so I could never have all the cool ones you do, at least at the same time.

Catsew, There is no such thing as a plain, boring red NN. They are as beautiful as any of the colors. And all NNs are cool.

Nice NNs girls, Maralpz2006. The barred looks more like a cuckoo. They're all lovely. Where did you get your NNs? What size eggs are you getting?

i have two young pullets 2 months old there are white, one is light brahma mother and turken father, but im looking for a mottled (blank and white)turken hen

gootziecat you are right she is cuckoo the father is barred rock but i dont know the mother,i have 4 red ones and the pic that i posted of the red ,she really lays big huge eggs, the other ones lays medium size

Now I'm sure I could go back and find the answer to this, but I just need a quick answer nothing techical. Is it the rooster that has to be turken to have turken babies or can the rooster be regular and the hen be a turken?

The naked neck gene is dominant, so any first generation crosses with this fowl will show the naked neck, although often with a larger patch of feathers on the neck.
I think if it's pure it won't matter what sex it is.
