Naked Neck/Turken Thread

KKH  yes I agree that the spots of splashes of melanotic coloration. Sort of splash skin :gig Your NN flock look very healthy. How is the conversion of the trailer ? And where will its resting place be ?  Are you planning on using the spot where the tortoise live for their run ?  Do you know that tortoise live in the upper Mojave ?  There is a man here in town that has had a pair living in his yard forever. They have build their den under the ground where the hibernate all winter. When the weather warms they come out to play and visit .

The trailer conversion is moving along at a comfortable clip. The roof has been sealed, missing windows replaced, completely gutted out.....we had to tear up part of the floor as it was almost completely gone anyhow (termites). DH is working on it so I'm happily stepping back (and you know how hard that is for me to do :P ). It will go down next to the horses. I'll have to name that coop "Trailer Trash Turkens"

The tortoise hard is suppose to be the dog yard. Seems things around here keep getting re-purposed. Julian is NOT a good place for desert tortoises.

I have a sulcata tortoise I have had him for many years got him when he was the size of an oreo cookie Now he weighs ~50 pounds. He lives in the back yard all summer and in the basement in the winter. My chickens wonder what the heck is this huge thing roaming around.

I have a question regarding splash. How do you tell the difference in a splash colored chicken and one the is white w/ color leaking through, or is it every chicken that is mostly white w/ blotches of color are splash????
