Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I know this has been asked before but I couldn't find the post. I have my barred rock rooster with 5 naked neck hens. 3 hens are black and 2 are red. Will the chicks that come out barred be female since the father is barred?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, unless one of your hens has a dominant white gene. Which I doubt.

Even if they did have a dominant white, they'd have some form of barring.

Hopefully you'll get more colors from them.
I'm hoping that my Buff Laced 1/2 Polish-1/2 EE will give me more colors also. But then again I'm not too terribly worried about it, just mostly trying to learn a few things as I go along with my project.

you should see more colors. GB's birds seem pure for dominant white crossed with splash, which is basically a 'pure bred with another pure' which usually puts a limit on variety of colors in the first generation.

if you're asking if it's a sex linked mating, answer is no... because all of the chicks of both sexes will be barred. For sex linked mating using barring, it has to be non-barred roo with barred hens.

But if you just wanted barred hens, the answer would be a happy yes. :)

Hi I will be getting some cuckoo naked neck bantams and I'm wondering if cuckoo is recognized by the ABA. Any advice I helpful I am very exited they are show quality.:D

How about this gal? She is NN and is the the daughter of one of the frizzles I got from Dipsy Doodle Doo. Her papa was a showgirl.

BTW Lisa - I have that same nakedness problem at times with her - we call her chemo chicken right now.

Here is a really pretty pullet I hatched this spring - not frizzle but I really like her colors and majorly feathered feet.
