Hi everyone. I hope someone can be some help by telling me what may be mixed(what kind of chicken) in with my black skined naked neck besides silkie. He gave me some chicks from my white and blue silkie(12 chicks). Out of the 12, 4 were naked neck. Half the chicks have hard feathers and the other half have silkie feathers. If I were to breed the two new silkie feathered naked necks back to silkies would all the chicks have just silkie feathering or is there a chance the hard feathers will come out? He is picture of him. Thanks in advance. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks ellymay. If he is part copper maran could the hens he is producing lay dark eggs if they are half silkie? Is that possible? Now that I have my naked neck (silkie showgirls) I don't think I am going to breed him anymore. I just was hoping to get some insight with the genes. I bought him from a breeder out of state and all that she told me was he was a project bird because she was hoping to use him to produce showgirls. I should of asked but I was just getting into chickens then and didn't think to ask. But It worked, He gave me to silkie feathered showgirls.
