Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Good guesses. The first chick is pure for naked neck so both parents had to have naked necks. If those were the only two naked necks in the flock, no question about this one. But- what kind of comb does it have also the NN in the flock?
The flock was 1 red NN roo, 1 Partridge Cochin roo, and 1 bantam(looked like sebright) roo over 2 black NN hens, 2 Cochin hens, and 2 bantam (sebright) hens. I got non NN from the 1bantam egg and the 1 Cochin egg. These two NN came from the 2 black NN hens.Chick 2 has a very small single comb possibly pea comb.

Here are some updated pics of our 2 first NN Turkens.

I am hoping they are both pullets - supposed to be but who knows... What do you guys think?
If it's still too early, I'll take some more pics at 6 weeks.

Yes, cute pullets. A 6 week old male would already have red about neck and jaws and have the beginning of wattles.

If I breed my buff orpington rooster with my NN hens what kind of chicks will I get?? NN hens are (1 wheaten, 1 black tailed buff) will chicks have naked necks or feathers like the roo?

I purchased Naked Necks from a breeder last year, I am hatching out chicks from them now and I am getting some chicks that are fully feathered, both parents are NN, I thought the all chicks should have naked necks? Also I'm wondering what you call the color of this chick, I am getting some that look like this and I don't know what to call it. He has a Naked Neck you just can't see it right now. Thanks for all the help, I'm selling eggs and I have had some question the fully feathered trait, I didn't get any in my fertility test but yesterday I hatched out 10 and 2 of them were fully feathered.

oops- one new post while I was composing- below is response to countryhen.

From those three, half of the chicks will have naked necks.

All of the chicks will be mostly buff, from the black tail some might even close to completely buff but many will have some black on wings and tail tips. Some of the chicks from the wheaten might show a little more color on the back/tail.

Breeding chicks from this back to a buff will give you some solid buffs. A solid buff NN would be quite pretty, and not many are solid buff either.

to get a solid buff I would be better to breed with the black tailed buff NN? or breed whatever chicks I hatch with another buff orpington rooster ( or can their father breed with them??)will they not have the NN gene anymore & just be Buff orpingtons? will any of them have naked necks or all feathered??
