sometimes sexing young NN gets confusing... it seems some girl NN grow big combs(usually no color) very early or some will show some red, especially when blushing. Some boy NN have very small combs for a long time. So with NN I try not to focus too much on the comb size or amount of red, looking at the overall bird. like are the legs also looking much thicker with longer toes, body looking heavier etc. Most of the time I just let them feather out and see if they show tell tale feather color patterns, that's more reliable.

Duckwing is the name of a basic pattern gene and got its name due to a colored patch on the wings of roosters.. as opposed to crow wing which is an all black wing, missing the colored patch.
