Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I've posted these guys umpteen times. They're now 5 months old and I'm STILL not sure on gender. The black I'm pretty positive is a rooster, although he still hasn't crowed at all. This one, white with a Delaware-ish pattern, I have no clue. Thoughts? (Sorry for the terrible quality and only one pic..I had to throw her/him in the "naughty" cage just to get this.) And those aren't saddle feathers - there are none to speak of - just dirty, drooping feathers from being low in the pecking order and bossed into the mud. She/he is very timid, not at all roo-ish.
I'll give it a guess. Rooster, although I can't see the tail well, I see what is the look of saddle feathers. As Kassaundra said a better picture of hackle and saddle feathers would help a bunch.

Hi! I am new to NNs, going to pick ours up today, getting 15 pullets and one cockerel. Any advice on this particular breed for a newbie? I got some advice from another Texas friend who has NNs, and all suggestions are definitely welcome! I am all for NOT learning the hard way!

Hi everyone!
Last Sunday the first chicks of the season hatched. Tree NN and one Araucana. The white chick has single comb, the other three pea comb, some days ago I read from Kev that pea combed NNs tend to be more naked, and now I can see it with my own eyes! All tree NNs have only 1 NN gene because Mom is a single gene NN and Dad is feathered. The difference is notorious.
Enjoy

I hope you liked them as much as I do! Next hatch is september 14th, 9 eggs.
Regards
Urte

Thanks for the guesses guys. I know the photo was crap. I'll try to get a better body shot soon, but this (girl? poor Winston..) is the most skittish in my flock of 35 and it's tough to catch (her?) standing still.
Urte, those babies are so cute!! NN babies definitely make the cutest chicks ever imo. :) Can't wait for mine to finish maturing so I can breed my own pretty babies.

A-dorable! Congratulations!

Years ago my in-laws got a couple of NN in a hatchery assortment. They were promptly named after the two oldest grandchildren by my father-in-law. There have been many since--Dad LOVES the weirdness of these birds. The latest is Trevor, and he is the BEST cockerel we've ever had. He doesn't fight with the more "dominant" roos, yet more than half of the hatches are coming up NN mixes. He has been a busy boy! I post a good pic when I get one. My mother-in-law is shocked that he calmly sits on my lap and reaches his head back to be rubbed! He's a big old baby!

My son wants to mix him with his EE Emily to get a NN with puffy cheeks.

This is too cute not to share...

My three year old just climbed on my lap saying he wants petted like pertty does!
Pertty is my NN who likes jumping on my lap. :D

How do you know when you're addicted to chickens?

Your kids ask for the attention you give to the chickens.

Hahaha , that's a good one, and cute too.
