Cute! Sorry to suspect Buffy is a boy seems to be taking on a roo color pattern(especially the darker red on shoulders in above picture).. not sure about Jody, could be a big girl or a young boy not really showing any other hints.

Just candled some eggs in the bator and I have fertile NNs! Some may ever be frizzled! Can't wait! I have fertile eggs from 10 different hens (all different breeds!) Can't wait to see what I end up with! (42 fertile eggs)

I remember looking at NN's and going "NO WAY". Then I ended up with about 5 in a hatchery surprise mix box and lo and behold...I LOVE THEM. They are the best chickens, nice docile personalities, beautiful coloring and friendly. Always are the first to run up to me in the coop to see what I am going to be doing. Love to be picked up and held and petted. Never say never...I have become a real fan of this breed.

That's about how I started except I love the different and unusual... so when I saw them in McMurray catalog, decided to order one, just one and sexed, pullet as part of the order of several different breeds... in case I didn't like it and didn't want a NN roo making more NN babies.

I should have just made that order 25 straight run NN! That chick turned out to be the favorite and the only one I kept until she passed from old age. p.s. she was creatively named McMurray....
