Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Thanks , and if you decide to ship an older bird I'll take one of your extra roosters,

I hope I can find a buff rock in the near future I need one

I really like your reds too.
I would but in my state becoming NPIP is pain in the butt they require so much and they break your stones.. It's such a long process to be able ship live birds here in this crap state.. I can show birds cause they got a easy blood test but being able to ship live birds that's a different story .. I can ship eggs though best I can do.

Here are some pics taken with my phone

I'm taking them to the show in a couple of weeks so not all pretty yet

Nice! and good luck at show. I really like that white. Good luck with getting a buff.

brahmabreeder-

I agree with the responses you got. I see a clear difference between breeds- the NN take off and look all over the yard, even their first time out as 5 month olds. Other large heavy breeds tended to stay real close(not more than 10 or 20 feet) and keep going back into their coops.

Hatchery stock NN usually are pretty good dual purpose birds, not sure how consistent that is.. the stock I got from McMurray 20+ years ago were very heavy and laid XL eggs. if you want truly dual purpose, try a hatchery called S&G or something like that.. a member on here had some from them and a NN from a more well known hatchery... SG birds grew much bigger and heavier.

so i was just wondering. do your chickens not like a certain clothing color that you wear?

Yes- my chickens and peafowl do NOT like orange, pink or red. Makes them FREAK out! It's most luikely because all my shirts are dark or earth colors. Also the cuts can matter- shorts vs pants or patterns. I read on here soemwhere her rooster attacks anything with polka dots.

All those babies are makin me think of letting eggs collect in nests.. sigh... (no incubator here)

I know, right?! I swear he has a mirror, a little comb and some stiff hair gel he hides in that coop somewhere! He reminds me of the boys off of "Jersey Boys" tv show

He's certainly unique! I'm a pretty straight laced person but I would NOT be ashamed to own him...In fact, if he has the personality to go along with that 'style', he's a great Ambassador for NNs!
