Naked Neck/Turken Thread

You're so lucky to have the gene. Does your roo seem to have less feathering? afaik the only outward appearence of carriers was a row of missing scales on the legs so if it also reduces the feathering, that would be interesting info. I'm not sure if you knew this already- believe your birds came from stock where naked neck and scaleless were deliberately mixed in together. afaik, scaleless carriers without naked neck look like normal chickens(except for the row of missing leg scales)

I recall reading of scaleless birds popping out of a New Hampshire stock.. no mention of naked necks... just normals and completely nakeds.

added: just remembered there was a scaleless that popped out of oriental type breed in Vietnam.. Thailand or..?? saw pictures it looked like t rex.
Yes, I know my bird came from a NN flock that has Sc carriers.

I see! That is so cool!
And he will pass that (I guess single copy of scaleless gene) to a % of his offspring, and then mate him to daughters carrying a single copy and *BAM*, you get a % of naked birds with two copies of scaleless gene? Is that how that would work?
Ohhhh, and fibromelanotic scaleless (be still my heart)!

And being the grand sire of my future NN flock I should expect mostly Fm offspring.
