I got Bertha 4 days ago and she is yet to lay. Should I be worried!

i have a naked neck hen that had chicks ,but some of the chicks were not naked necks when the non naked necks get old enough to have chicks and are not bread to another naked neck. will some of the chicks get the naked necks gene from their grandma
This is my boy Vlad - a two year old roo
I've only ever had 2 turkens. One hatched from eggs gathered at our local county fair(my father used to run the poultry program). One from Murray McMurray mystery chick.
Now this is against my better judgement. But I would really like to play around with the Naked Neck gene since it is a dominant trait and would be easily distinguished in birds that were crossed. Looking through this thread at some of the crosses people have done, its very entertaining.
how is that 'against better judgement'? it can only be improvement!![]()
It is fun. many years ago went through a mad phase of crossing naked neck with almost every trait there is in the chickendom. some results were fascinating.
I saw a NN Asil
now that was freeky but I liked it
because it was a cross the breeder was inbreeding them and asking anyone that had more to contact him to stop inbreeding
