But then what excuse would you use ?Froggie I understand I am plagued by CRS each and every day= wish they'd come up with a vaccination against it.
OMG! What fun! I am setting 20 Runner Duck Eggs tonight! I lost 7 chickens this month to predators. Down to 18 chickens and 6 babies! Booo! I don't know if my young rooster is doing any good with all his shenanigans, but I may put some of my own eggs in there to just to see!No good can come from this!!! I have 2 broodies so I gave them 8 eggs each. The last broody I had sat diligently and didn't get one chick to show for her hard work so this time I put eggs in the bator just in case that happens again they can have babies, but why turn on the bator if you don't fill it up right?????? So 26 eggs went in the bator, that all adds up to too many chicks!!! lol
I downsized this past Saturday, but on Sunday I was back up in numbers.Kass I know what you mean. I keep telling myself that I need to downsize. right !
EDDY, ya gotta post some pics of his babies please???
And Miss Thangs' sister Netta is sitting on a NN/Serama eggie right now in all her hissing glory!

Is he truly rumpless, no tail bone at all, or just slow at developing tail feathers. My EE' males have been slow at tail growing. An EE can be crossed w/ araucuana (tailess and tufts) and a muffed ameracuana or other EE, or silkie or houdan or any other bearded breed.Gene question. Probably should post this is an Araucana thread but we need some chatter going here again.![]()
These little guys are 6 weeks old today. The guy I got them from said they were green egg layers and since 2 of them have tiny muffs I assumed they were crossed with EE. But, I just noticed a couple weeks ago (very observant I know) that the only white one, painfully obviously a roo, has no tail whatsoever. Does that mean Araucana in his ancestry or are some EEs rumpless? He is also one with a muff, and if I remember correctly, true Araucanas have tufts, not muffs. He also has a single comb. The others have singles, peas, and/or some combination of single and pea. Not that it matters, since I'm not into breeding..yet, I'm just curious about their history.

The other 6 (buff/red with strange patterns) all have tails. Only one is muffed. A random gal:
