Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Note to all Nava is the DEVIL!!!! I just wanted BLRW's when I ordered from him. ( I thought NN's were one of the most awful things on god's green earth) Then after talking with Nava I thought it might be funny to open the box and have a joke on the kids. (Joke was on me) It began in the brooder. The first ones I would look for were the NN's. they continued to grow on me. Now I wish I split my order and am considering buying the 3 pullets. (I can't but you know)

I kept a rooster (avatar) so I can start to make them for myself.

OMG! I love your NN rooster! I love the lacy look. Those are my favorite coloring on a chicken!

When my son showed his NN at the fair for 4 H, we'd pull him out to let people pet him. Kids were usually game, but the ADULTS were scared of him! The ones we FINALLY got to pet him were always shocked at how sweet and calm he was--and how WARM his neck was! We dressed him up as Dracula for the 4 H animal project contest, and he won 1st place in the poultry division. I love a lot of my ladies, but he is by far my favorite rooster--and we have many breeds to choose from!

My chickens are all for me, I don't sell them to make money (not averse to selling some, just don't rely on the sales) so I don't care at all what others in my area think, I love the look and utility of the NN.

Yep, for me I love the having black skinned ones and love their "caps". It kills me when they ruffle them up a bit. I enjoy swaps and want to support them. But I know better than to take a NN. Just sayin'....they don't sell.

I never had that problem here in fl, always sell me NNs

I wish I had enough

Reason I posted them its cause PsycoPeep was asking about them

They are nice pullets, but only carry 1 nn gene
I'm looking to sell NNs next year but only double gene.

That's why I'm culling all with one gene,
I also have a really nice splash big- ole cockerel with one gene and the comb is floped to one side

If I can't find him a home I'm going to eat.

PS. Xovan, I already got your address if you don't quit HARRASING. Me
Expect a surprise gift next spring.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA

You gotta understand that this is Arkansas they want a Rhode Island Red (any old red chicken--Sometimes a Rode Island Red) or Dominicker (any old barred chicken--single or rose comb). They don't want the peacomed chickens much either ("What ate their comb?").
