Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Yay! Now I can finally join the thread and not feel guilty.

Got a bonus NN bantam roo yesterday when I went to pick up 'eatin' roosters'. He's adorably ugly - typical 'wild' fowl coloring (duckwing) but plenty of moxie for something his size. I'm gonna put him in with a couple of my Barred/Bantam crosses and see how naked his chicks get :)

Welcome to the "naked" side!!!

Ah, alas. Just read the standard and not only does his coloration knock him out, but he's got a really neat cushion comb. Well...

Maybe the nice single comb barreds will pass that on to any potential offspring.

I don't show and couldn't give two hoots about SOP. I like color and pattern and seeing a group of individuals when I look at my flock. I want my birds to be healthy, good temperament (both to people and other birds), large, as little bow tie as possible, lots of cool colors and patterning to the feathers they do have, cool top hats, and dark skin. Basically in that order.

LOL! That's why I'm putting him in with some of my barreds for a while. I'm more interested in increasing my laying flock and I like to look at different colored/shaped/sized birds if I have to go in and look at that many bird butts during the day :D He's just too cute to NOT at least try.

Cool, keep in mind how much we love pics on this thread!!!! lol

And another, with Lee and his hatchbrother (but not actual brother) Goliath. For some perspective.

Also, Bling, who decided to fly the layer coop and come visit the 'big boys' *facepalm* She's an EEr/Orpington cross and she is VERY besotted with Goliath already.

Sounds like a classic Romeo and Juliette moment to me! lol
