I've come to realize also, thanks to saddle feathers that do not lie, that despite the lack of red comb, or comb at all really, Scarlett is a roo (the one with bum leg):

and, despite the bright red face ever since chick-hood, Archibald is a pullet LOL:

(And while there are no obvious saddles yet, with that beautiful coloring, Rusty is still definitely a dude..he's a sweetie too:

They won't care about their names as long as you don't call them to become dinner. They are cuties too.

A cleaning lady comes in once a week and I hear her mumble about the dog hairs and whatever else crosses her mine. I give her a wide latitude because getting/keeping reliable house cleaners around here is very difficult and she's been here for almost 6 years..

If I brought in 450+ chickens...even for just a couple days....I can't even contemplate the destruction...

I'm cleaning lady around here and I'm telling you 450+ chickens would be the end for me. I'd be getting out of Dodge fast. lol

When I get down below 325 or 350...I feel like the farm is 'empty'.

120 plus Australorps will be trucked out from here within the next few weeks, weather permitting. I guess that void will have to be filled NN's.

Aww will you miss them? Look forward to seeing all the NN babies though, that will be fun, and congrats your son is a step closer to being back in the USA.
