Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I have a question this is a large thread and sry if its been asked a friend of mine told me turkens are created by breeding a chicken and a turkey I've looked it up and found out its a lie but I want to know the origins of the Turkmen if anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated

I think their history is a bit of a mystery, but there are several jungle fowl breeds that are less feathered and some dramatically so, I think they are likely descendent from one or more of those.

They were formed in Romania and Hungary long time ago. Such a common breed in most of Europe.

No, Naked Necks are 100% chickens and are not crossed with turkeys it's a gene that causes the naked necks. If Naked Necks were crossed with turkeys they would huge birds like Jersey Giant or a Langshans, but Naked Necks are mid size bids.

I don't think it is genetically possible, but a chicken can cross w/ a guinea but the offspring are sickly and weak, I believe sterile too, but not sure on that.
