Nice pics.
The scabs are a good thing...let them fall off naturally. I think you'll like the udder cream...I'm glad you got it!Poor Ed I have been keeping his comb and wattles smeared up with udder cream and he walks around with shavings stuck to them. but so far no frost bite again. But the scabs are still there from he last round so they may protect some. I'll be so glad with this horrid weather leaves.
I love the udder cream I'm using it too. I won't take the scabs off boy are they thick too so hopefully this round of minus temps we'll keep him and my drake frost free. Thanks so much for the info. The scabs are a good thing...let them fall off naturally. I think you'll like the udder cream...I'm glad you got it!
And no frost bite on those waddles?? poor Ed my NN he got frost bite really bad in the last minus temps. I'm wondering if it happened because, I use heated buckets in the winter since I have a mixed flock including water fowl and I don't have heated chicken waterers and he probably got his wattles wet while drinking? I love the coloring on your NN gorgeous.
With some folks, they find it so hard to believe the truth. If NNs couldn't deal with cold, they would not even be so much as a footnote around here instead of being the 'go-to' breed. From my experience, they lay when others consider taking the day off...
