Here he is engaged in the chase! My poor girl, will he show interest in other girls!

Pics of the girls at 3 weeks today

She is starting to grow a top knot, she is by far the lightest mostly white w/ some black feathers. She has light Fm also.

This is a barred girl w/ a top knot also

This girl I am only about 50% on but really hoping.

This girls color/pattern is very interesting, doesn't show in the pics as nice as it really is.

Now for the boys at 3 wks today

This is one I was really hoping was a girl, but there just is no chance at all.

One of the 3 barred boys

This boy was the first out, Gary named him E.B. for eager beaver. I am keeping him

This boy needs a heavy metal rocker name, look at that messy thick eye liner, smeared from a sweaty performance.

The only red of the group and has a pea"ish" comb, came from a green egg was really hoping for him to be a girl.

Wow that black one is sure black! Skin too! Is she a specific breed?

How can you tell so soon, must've been doing this a while, huh?

Only about 3 years, but I'm good at noticing patterns. I watch my baby chicks a lot and to me most are blatently obvious. Comb, legs, stance, feathering, behavior, all together and I can usually tell. Some of mine are by specific colors I have observed only happen in boys in my flock w/ my mixes or only in girls.

I have to wonder what it would be like if I breed my Delaware rooster with my Turken hen. Will I end up with turken chicks??? And will they be white I wonder?? Or maybe be barred like the hen? Has anyone tried that?

Delaware Patterned chickens and maybe some solid barred too. Could be other colors depending on the hens coloring. I had some red barred ones at one time. I used a barred rooster though.

home this weekend!! :) Got some new pix of the chicks. Mom changed the one's name from Tiger to Tigger.

Tigger is in the back. Gotta look past my cocky, camera ham named Solomon. (He's an OEGB.)

There's Tigger!!

Tigger again!!
