You know now that you mention it it could've been this one is the mother:![]()
, instead of the other one. As far as I know that other hen doesn't carry mottling unless barring is considered mottling. This one would account for the mottled look on this young one, I didn't think of it as mottling really, but I guess that is what it is. Maybe I need to try for Mottled Naked Necks. I think I'm going to use it anyway regardless of whether or not it creates NN's or not. I just think it is cool coloring.

We are about to have new babies again. I wasn't going to set anymore eggs for a while, but I had a girl go broody, so gave her some eggs, then her broody mom decided it was a great idea, but the first one had been setting for about a week, and we just have one broody area. While we were trying to figure out how to manage, they decided for us, they decided to share the eggs and nest.
