Naked Neck/Turken Thread

You know now that you mention it it could've been this one is the mother: , instead of the other one. As far as I know that other hen doesn't carry mottling unless barring is considered mottling. This one would account for the mottled look on this young one, I didn't think of it as mottling really, but I guess that is what it is. Maybe I need to try for Mottled Naked Necks. I think I'm going to use it anyway regardless of whether or not it creates NN's or not. I just think it is cool coloring.

Yeah that one is likely the mother- same base color and has some mottle going on. Your tricolor is this color plus mottle plus red enhancers.

I hope you breed them, the color IS way cool! that's the problem with projects like these- sometimes surprises show up and just have to start another project... ;)

Baby pics!

What do you think of the crazy patterning and color on this one? I've never seen a head pattern like that!

Looks like BBS series but these are actually a black and two lavenders... for some reason a much darker shade of lavender occasionally shows up. no idea what is up with that.

We are about to have new babies again. I wasn't going to set anymore eggs for a while, but I had a girl go broody, so gave her some eggs, then her broody mom decided it was a great idea, but the first one had been setting for about a week, and we just have one broody area. While we were trying to figure out how to manage, they decided for us, they decided to share the eggs and nest.

@Kassaundra
How'd you like my (tricolored mottled) naked neck that doesn't have a necked neck?

So I've got this bantam NN, and at first I thought it was gonna be pure white...but now it's looking like it's going buff. And it's got a bald spot on top of its head lol! Any thoughts on what color it will be? (And sorry the pics aren't very good my camera sucks, and it was very windy)

So cute. Do you know what all went into that baby? Almost looks like sunglasses perched on top of the head.

Quote: Yea, those neck feathers sure get in the way. Gender: I think it is a rooster , but a slow maturing one. I'm going to hang onto it whatever it is.
