Yep! The anatomy just doesn't line up right. However, you can artifically inseminate a hen from a guinea cock if you wanted and know how. I've been playing with the idea. Unfortunately the hybrids don't seem to live very long though.

So it's anatomy? Had wondered if it was matter of anatomy or behavior differences if it wasn't infertility.

Someone NEEDS to make guinea x chicken hybrid. See if they're different in any way from the more usual cross.

p.s. did you read the Miracle thread? natural free range hybrid, beautiful thing. She didn't live very long either, just a year or two?

Lol, let me see if I can snatch one of my male guineas off the roost at night and collect a donation. Now what breed of chicken should I fertilize? I wonder if a different breed would yield different hybrids. For instance a silkie guinea cross is probably much different that a leghorn guinea cross I would imagine. I did see Miracle! She was such a beautiful bird.
