Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Lol, let me see if I can snatch one of my male guineas off the roost at night and collect a donation. Now what breed of chicken should I fertilize? I wonder if a different breed would yield different hybrids. For instance a silkie guinea cross is probably much different that a leghorn guinea cross I would imagine. I did see Miracle! She was such a beautiful bird.

Showgirl would be awesome! Beard and naked neck are already proven to show in the hybrids.. but how about the black skin? Imagine a naked neck, black skinned, bearded, feather legged, multi toed hybrid?! btw have seen a silkie-golden pheasant hybrid, it had beard, mini crest and some leg feathers on very lskinny legs. It looked very strange.

It appears hybrids with chickens without the extra physical features have the same basic type with the main difference being color. It would be interesting to see how dominant white from leghorn shows up on the hybrids. Suspect the comb would be non existent despite the combs being huge on leghorns...

Pretty funny Kev ! Yes there are a few long time member taking time off. DDD hangs out on the GA pages and I suppose Nava over in FL. Makes sense huh ?

Brooder MOM a EE d'ucle mix green eggs and first gen NN FM mix Gee I like those mixes Huh ?

So that's your breeding method, toss 'em into a pot and see what comes back up? The result is so cute I could eat it...... ;)

What a little cutie! Still no dice on fertile NN cemani cross eggs. When I went in the coop today Bre attempted to mate a cemani hen and grabbed her neck but she screamed and he immediately let go. Very good rooster for taking no for an answer, but since he doesn't dance for them yet they don't know he's trying to mate and they scream because they think he's just attacking them. This could take awhile.

Coming back here isn't helping me.... makes me want to set a whole bunch of eggs now nownownow real bad lol. kind of trying to hold off so the chicks would hatch after the holidays but the other concern is what if egg laying drops off by then, arrrgh...
