I'm so upset! I was hanging out in the run with my 5-week old NNs and my favorite pullet leapt onto my shoulder, yanked out my silver pearl earring and swallowed it before I could stop her. Not only was this my favorite pair of earrings and a wonderful gift from my teenage son, but now I'm terrified that the metal post will kill my favorite chick! ![]()
.. Sorry, couldn't help it. You might could keep an eye in the poo.I'm so upset! Well, my main egg laying flock is about to become a NN breeding flock it looks like. Due to a predator attack, I lost every single rooster in the flock, and some hens, with the exception of one rooster who's likely going to lose most of his toes and certainly won't be up to the task of flock protector. As such, in spring, Bre, my NN roo, will be inheriting the flock along with his subordinate brother. So, I'll have a big flock that produces NN chicks it seems. Good thing I really like NNs!

Ouch! what was the predator and it's not having any more chicken dinners right?
