Went to the coop one last time tonight to check on the broody and look what we found

Thanks, he is from a brown egg, I have 2 green eggs under her, but may not know which one hatches from the green eggs.

I read that NNs don't go broody as often as some other breeds. What's the opinion here? I really want to just let them do their thing and hope for chicks at some time.

Also, (first time chickens here) I'm getting our chicken house ready to bring home our 3 hens and roo this weekend and found out that they have preferred to sleep in a medium size dog igloo and sit on roosts during the day. I had purchased plastic buckets for nests. Suggestions on how I can make them feel more at home?

And my apologies, Kassaundra. I had meant to open my post with "OMG, that's an adorable baby chick!!!" It got me all excited and asking questions. I get ahead of myself. I really just need to get the chickens home first, figure out where they are going to want to sleep, and then go from there.

I think it can be taken for granted that ALL NN chicks are adorable and for that matter....so long as there are no health or thrift issues, ALL chicks have their adorable quota!

True all chicks are adorable, but NN chicks are extra specially adorable

Yay for me!!! I just KNEW I'd end up finding the most adorable breed! Considering I'd never even heard of them two weeks ago I think things worked out really well. Happy to be the newest member of the NN fan club!
