Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I am friends with Dipsy Doodle Doo on Facebook. She post her soaps that she makes quite often. I sent her a message sunday inquiring of her about her naked neck polish project and the availability of some of her Gypsy Goth eggs.I also informed her that several on here were asking about her.She has not replied yet.

Sharkman I just put together a pen to make fibro naked necks. A frizzle polish X naked neck cross rooster over some 2 copy fibro hens.He is dun as well as the hens.So hopefully I will get some khaki nn fibros.Do you ever have hatching eggs available?

Her profile says last sign in was back in 8/31/14.. so I assume she hasn't been back since.

Oh straight comb won't be so easy to rid of from your project.. if you're determined, one way is to pair-breed with a single combed bird, if any single comb chick pop up, that bird is a guilty one.

Extra toe is a little easier to detect, be sure to look at the rear toe, it needs to be totally normal, no 'crabbing'(two toenails on one toe). Pretty much the only way to totally rid of wattles is to use pea comb or beard as both reduce wattle size a goodly bit.

Good luck!

That is a long time for Lisa to be absent ! By now Kev, you might have guessed that I take my flock manipulation lightly as most everything else. oH dEar Yes I do know about the beard and pea comb combination to rid the flock of huge wattles. sorry to hear about Lisa. Should I try to look up her personal information or just mind my own business.

Let's make a vote ?

I will likely have some eggs available soon as i am going on vaca. in a few months and don't want to have babys around. I also want to get them to some people who have good quality svarts and cemani so i can get some eggs back when they breed them!

If I may say...a friend IS your business.

Does anyone ever have problems with dry skin on their NNs? And if so, do you treat it in any way? I make sure they have plenty of shade and cool water during the day, but the humidity has been so low here and the sun so intense, I'm noticing some dry patches of skin on their necks.

I was just about to ask this same thing! I noticed my babies necks are getting so dry and even peeling a bit! I'll be looking forward to hearing from someone if they have a solution

I wonder if the same happens in non-NN except you don't get to see it.

I've never treated and they always grew out of it.. Suspect it is normal skin shedding as they grow so fast plus any indoor chick brooder with any sort of chicks makes it extremely plain they all make a LOT of dander...
