Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Thanks - that's delightful news - I'd love some spangling and interesting patterns!!!! Mystique is the second largest pullet, so between him and her, the babies would be big as well. (Largest pullet is Trinity, totally black with black face and legs.)

If it were me I'd try for chicks between him and Mystique for potential range of feather patterns, to see if he might have been a laced wyandotte cross.... but then I just love the crazy spangling, double pencilling, halfmoons etc.. and I think LF laced NN would be wonderful.

results of old project for silver laced NN- these are bantams.

Love them!!!! Dang it, Kev! Now you're making me want to try another project.

my Jumbo is 6 wk old and weighs 2 lb, lol. isn't that too much?

This is a NN? Wow! My largest boys at 6 weeks only came in around 24 ounces (1.5 lbs). Too big? Is there such a thing? I would be eyeing that boy as my primary meat breeder.

I agree - that sounds great! My Tank - the largest and fastest growing of my hatchery NNs, was 27.5 oz at 6 weeks.

That being said, his weight/growth curve tapered off as he got older. Not sure what was behind it, but I was wondering if it was an early spurt. I'll be keeping an eye on this sort of data as I breed from them for improvement...

What he IS, though, is a good sire for chickens if you want to harvest for meat early (due to the early growth)...
