Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Beautiful! Have you tried crossing NN's with Wyandottes?

Thanks and yeah, started to go for a line using blr Wyandottes but it was dropped soon because at that time I was starting to get overwhelmed by too many birds from too many projects..

Anyways here's a not so great picture of a pullet out of a splash blrw cross:

OMG she's so lovely! I had thought about getting some of these - would love to cross them with my NNs. What was the coloring of the NN you crossed with?

To be honest... I can't remember her NN half... been a few years.

If you're interested in the BLR, breed with your black tails- the darker the better. Even better if you get an obvious partridge-chick with marbled head and dark patterned all over as adults.

oh wow! what beautiful birds! I've got a couple naked neck hen with a RIR roo right now. two of the hens are black, one white, and one red. i'll be setting their eggs soon. I cant wait to see the colors!

She is gorgeous! (You are such an enabler.)

@Fire Ant Farm - I think you and I are in trouble.

We'd better start building faster to accommodate all of our "new" upcoming projects thanks to Kev's inspiration.

This is one of my favorite aspects of this breed...their diversity in appearance. Such pretty birds! Good luck with your hatch, and please remember to post photos. We all work very hard to feed one another's addictions around here.

I had tons of fun learning from hands on genetics through the years... do love seeing others get excited about their projects.
