Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Both look like roosters to me.

Oh, they are asking the sex? I thought they wanted to know what they were crossed with. Hatched in November they should be crowing/laying by now shouldn't they?

I was referring to the White NNs on previous page where someone asked what they were.

What is the difference between the Transylvanian NN and crossed NN? Are the Transylvanians double breasted and do they lay better?

My babies are 1 week old now and going strong, and by strong I mean already trying to perch on the edge of the brooder.

Here are the NNs from the hatch.

@Kev This is the NN/White rock cross that you said is probably a cockerel. I totally agree! He's a sturdy little guy!

And this is the NN/White Rock mix that I suspect is female.

I NEVER EVER get tired of looking at NN baby photos. They are BEYOND adorable!

I can't wait until this Fall/next Spring when I will hatch from my own NNs for the first time...

(Meanwhile, I'll get my NN baby fix here...

Hello all, I picked up 2 NN at the local feed store 3 weeks ago. I really went in to pick up some Brahma pullets as I have some BIG Bielefelder/red Orpington cockerels (I bought them as pullets oops <sigh>) and was looking for a big breed for them. Anyway I saw the 10 day old NN's and fell in love with their bald little heads and 2 just happened to jump into the box with the Brahmas. A black and a yellow/buff. So i have been lurking on this thread since then looking at all the beautiful pics you all have posted.
I am at page 232 of this thread. Not a great photo, no one wanted to be photogenic today. They are almost 4 weeks now and are the sweetest things. I wish I had got a few more now. This is an awesome thread.

Beautiful babies. Hope to have some myself once my girls reach that age

So glad you joined us! We definitely love our NNs here and it's always nice to meet someone new who can appreciate the unique beauty of this breed. You're babies are adorable! I look forward to seeing more photos in the future and seeing how they grow and develop.

I just love my frizzled chick. Both of my NNs are so sweet. The grey is Pikachu and the black is Togepi. An obsession is growing! lol!
Should I make any adjustments to my coop for them for winter? I live in the mountains in Maryland and it gets pretty cold and windy.

Does anyone have any links to a part that explains the genetics of NN's? I wouldn't be sad to cross them with my silkies, lol! But I'll keep making my way through this thread too!!
