Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Would you mind sharing with me where you got nn's?
This other chick must be out.
I did not. I sent an email, PM with no answer. I wonder if they are still selling chicks. If you hear from them, please let me know. Meanwhile I ordered NN from 3 different hatcheries hoping for some variety.

Here are a few photos of what I think is a girl now. What do ya think? She hatched on Nov. 23rd, so not quite 2 months, next Monday. That silkie and her are buddies! Thinking it looks like a boy..it will got to a friend that is looking for a dark blue silkie boy..if it is.

She is soo sweet, always comes up to the door when I open it and leave it open a bit.

I only got this one to hatch..should have seen the eggs when I got them. Egg yolk all over them from about 6 of them broken. :/ It was my second try from these folks. Guess I won't be getting eggs from that area again. At least we tried a second time, and I think I got my girl.

I Honestly it's hard for me to tell in pictures, the sex of chicks. BUT, I think that it is a pullet, it just has that look.

I got mine from Ideal, have been happy with them (they are by no means "pure" - lots of different colors, and one huge boy with a rose comb who is probably part wyandotte - kept him as my flock rooster). I have a batch of 25 "broiler" NNs coming from Dunlap Hatchery at the end of February. They have the stock from S&G, and I'm thinking they may be likely to be more uniform, but we'll see.

She looks so sweet! I say she because I think she's a pullet - doesn't look like a boy to me, most of my NNs looked like boys by 3 or 4 weeks...

She definitely looks like a pullet to me. But that age the combs on my NN cockerels are much, much bigger.

I got my original flock of NNs from hatching eggs from a breeder out east who has since given up her breeding projects. Since then all of my NNs have been hatched from my own birds. It's allowed be to breed for all of the traits I favor in my flock.
